Long Island Children's Theatre-Dorothy Meets Alice or The Wizard of WonderlandA New Twist on Two Children's Classic Stories
141 S. Wellwood Ave.
Saturdays in January 2014
The immortal children’s stories of Alice in Wonderland and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz get a new twist in this family-friendly theatrical production. Dorothy Meets Alice or The Wizard of Wonderland, tells the tale of a boy who would rather procrastinate than write his book report (a lot of us have been there, right?). Before he knows it, he's in a magical place. But is it the Emerald City, Wonderland, or a destination in between the two?
Children and adults will both delight in this imaginative spectacle from playwright Joseph Robinette and musical director Karl Jurman. Studio Theatre is part of the Broad Hollow Theatre group, known for its children’s theatrical productions. The 2014 spring season will also include Aladdin, The Wizard of Oz, and The Little Mermaid. Introduce your little ones to live theatre—they’re going to love it.
Why not make a day of it with your family? You’ll find some great restaurants for before or after the show, including the Village Lanterne, serving up classic German food; Goccia D’Oro for delicious Italian cuisine; and Kabuki Sushi—the name says it all. For something fast or light, try Spoon Coffee House & Eatery. All of these restaurants are on Wellwood Avenue.
The show is performed on Saturdays at 2 p.m., during the month of January. Dates include 1/11, 1/18, and 1/25. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door—a real bargain. To purchase tickets or find out more about the show and Studio Theatre, call (631) 226-8400.
