The fall foliage season is right around the corner! Experience the spectacular beauty of Long Island this year at an important nature preserve near our boutique hotel. Take a Fall Nature Walk at Hoffman Center Nature Preserve & Wildlife Sanctuary to explore this protected landscape with the help of a local guide. Upcoming dates include September 17, October 1, and October 15.
The preserve was created in 1996 and includes a 1914 Georgian-style mansion in the center of the property. There are over 140 types of birds and 49 species of butterflies. During your hike, keep an eye out for local wildlife. Just a few of the animals you might see include herons, pheasants, red-tailed hawks, opossum, egrets, foxes, bats, woodpeckers, and owls. You never know what you might see when strolling through natural areas in Long Island.
All hikes start at 1 pm and admission is only $5.00. There is no need to make advance reservations, but guides request that you meet them at 12:50 at the site entrance. The Hoffman Nature Center Preserve is conveniently located about 10 minutes from The Inn at Fox Hollow. When you stay with us, you can enjoy a complimentary breakfast before your hike. Our hearty meal is an excellent way to fill up for your exciting walk in the great outdoors.
