Immerse yourself in an exhibition of student artwork at a new exhibition: Long Island's Best: Young Artists at The Heckscher Museum 2014. Taking place from March 29 through April 27, this prestigious program showcases the creations of the area's most talented young artists. For four weeks, you can peruse original works of art in many medias, over 80 pieces. Curated by Lisa Chalif, the works have been selected from over 300 submissions, and represent the cream of the community's young artists. Each piece is accompanied by a statement that explains each artist's creative journey, from conception to completion. Not only does this program give you the chance to admire unique pieces of art, it also gives the students the opportunity to show their work in a bonafide museum. This Long Island arts event features an opening reception on Saturday, April 5 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM, and a closing reception on Sunday, April 27 from 4PM to 7PM.
