Jones Beach State Park is one of the most renowned of all Long Island State Parks and Field 6 is the most popular location in the park. With its convenient ocean front parking and location at the beginning of the 2 mile “health walk”, field 6 is enjoyable all year round. Located at Ocean Parkway and Wantagh Parkway in Wantagh, NY, 25 minutes away from The Inn At Fox Hollow. 18.57 Miles – Directions
Robert Moses State Park is located on the western end of Fire Island outside of the boundaries of Fire Island National Seashore. The park is accessible by car via the Robert Moses Causeway – 24.44 Miles – Directions.
There are several parking lots in the state park (a fee is charged) and parking is available within Field 5 to reach the Fire Island Lighthouse (25.61 Miles – Directions) and Lighthouse Beach. Robert Moses State Park has about five miles of ocean beach from which visitors can swim, surf or surf-fish. Anglers can also fish from piers. A day-use boat basin can accommodate 40 boats. The park also has picnic areas and the 18-hole Robert Moses State Park Pitch & Putt Golf Course.

Crab Meadow Beach in Northport is great for kids. Located on Long Island Sound Beach in Northport approximately 25 minutes from The Inn At Fox Hollow. It has lifeguards, a playground on the sand and La Casa restaurant. The Town of Huntington will offer drive-in movies at the beach at dark on July 23 and Aug. 20. Admission Fee: Residents $15 for a day, $25 for the season; nonresidents $25 for a day. 12.46 Miles – Directions

Enjoy a day trip to The Montauk Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in New York State. It was authorized by the Second Congress, under President George Washington, in 1792. Construction began on June 7, 1796 and was completed on November 5, 1796. This historic landmark has been part of Long Island’s land and seascape for over 200 years. The Montauk Point Lighthouse is located on Turtle Hill at the easternmost tip on Long Island at 200 Montauk Highway.
