North Fork/Wine & Farm Country
Long Island's North Fork, Wine
& Farm Country…
The North Fork is Long Island's Wine & Farm Country.
Agriculture is one of Long Island's most important
industries and is now second only to tourism. The
North Fork of Long Island is a welcome respite from
the hubbub of every day life. Many Long Islanders
head to the North Fork to visit the rows of
manicured farms and vineyards. The first vineyard on
Long Island began in 1973 (Hargrave Vineyards) and
now Long Island is home to more than 50 wineries and
vineyards, with the majority of them on the North
Fork. The North Fork of Long Island has become known
as the "Napa Valley of the East." Since 1973, many
award-winning wines have been produced and visitors
have the opportunity to experience them firsthand at
tours and tastings. In addition to various farms,
the North Fork offers a wide array of attractions,
all of which can be explored as a nice day trip from
The Inn At Fox Hollow.
