For over a century, from the first biplanes to man's walk on the Moon, Long Island has been on the edge of America's aviation and space adventure. Located in Garden City, the Cradle of Aviation Museum celebrates Long Island's significant place in the history and development of flight. Getting to the museum is a breeze from Meadowbrook Parkway or public transportation. Free parking is available in the parking lot off Charles Lindbergh Blvd.-

The N16, N45, and N51 buses stop a few blocks from the Museum at Nassau Community College. -
Train:
Taxis are available from LIRR stations at Garden City, Mineola, and Westbury.

Museum exhibits share LI's history of aviation - from the historic flights of the 1920s to adventures in space. Permanent exhibits include: Dream of Wings 1870-1903, The Hempstead Plains, World War I, The Golden Age, World War II, The Jet Age, Space Exploration and Aviation Today. See over 60 amazing aircraft and scale models, including Charles Lindbergh's Curtiss Jenny, A-10 Thunderbolt II and Grumman F-14 Tomcat, and an Apollo Lunar Module. The four-story glass Visitor's Center Atrium features 8 artifacts suspended, including a Grumman F-11 in Blue Angels colors.
