Long Island Children's Museum

Long Island Children's Museum is a hands-on museum for kids and their grown-ups. LICM offers interactive exhibits that stimulates your child's curiosity and imagination and offers cool places to explore, play, learn and have fun. The museum features many interactive galleries with exhibits, workshops and school activity programs. Experience the magic of making music in mUSic, build a 3D world in Bricks and Sticks, broadcast the news in the Communication Station, discover the amazing ways animals find and eat in Feasts For Beasts, and shape a sand dune on Sandy Island. Enjoy live shows and performances in the LICM Theater.

Museum Exhibits & Galleries -

The LICM features many interactive galleries with hands-on exhibits where kids play, explore, imagine and learn. Explore exciting galleries, such as: mUSic, Bubbles, Pattern Studio, Sandy Island, Feasts For Beasts, Communication Station, Tot Spot, Changes and Challenges, Our Backyard, ClimbIt@LICM, and It's Alive! Kids of all ages discover nature, science, technology, and the worlds around us.

Parking & Transit -

The Museum is easily accessed from Meadowbrook Parkway, Hempstead Turnpike, Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway. Parking is free.

By bus, take N16 bus from Hempstead LIRR or Roosevelt Field to Nassau Community College, the N24 from Mineola LIRR or Roosevelt Field to Commercial Avenue, or the N43 from Freeport LIRR or Roosevelt Field to Nassau Community College. By train, take the LIRR to the Garden City, Hempstead or Mineola stations and take a taxi to the museum.

Is there food available?
Vending machines with food and beverages are available in our cafeteria. Groups must call in advance to reserve cafeteria space. Food and beverages are not permitted in the Museum galleries or gift shop.
